Primary endodontic treatment

In this protocol we have included codes that relate to primary endodontic treatment of single-rooted and multi-rooted teeth. Codes describing procedures completed for the respective visit are provided; if the treatment is performed in one visit, 97460-00 - Endodontic treatment of a temporary or permanent tooth may be used.
To log the review in the Bulgarian HIS, you can use the following codes:
- 97011-01Oral examination (uncomplicated).
- 97022-00Intraoral radiography, retroalveolar (segmental), Bitewing.
- 97460-00Endodontic treatment of a temporary or permanent tooth.
- 97423-03Treatment of pulpitis or periodontitis of a permanent tooth with anesthesia.
- 92505-98Terminal anesthesia.
- 97415-00Mechanical and chemical treatment of root canal(s).
- 97417-00Filling of root canal(s).
- 97594-01Placement of a radicular post.
- 97531-00Adhesive restoration of a back tooth, 1 surface (or use code 97532-00 for 2 surfaces or 97533-00 for 3 or more surfaces).
- 97598-00Dental stump construction
Other commonly used codes in the procedure may include:
- 97455-00Irrigation and/or intracanal medication of a root canal(s).
- 97458-00Temporary therapeutic root filling of a temporary or permanent tooth.
- 97532-00Adhesive restoration of a back tooth, 2 surfaces, direct.
