Overview

The temporary bridge body for each pontic is a fixed temporary bridge fabricated in a dental laboratory that is supported by teeth or implants and is intended to last until the final bridge is placed. Temporary abutment restorations are reported separately with codes [97631-01] or [97631-11], and temporary implant abutments are reported with a separate code (???). This code is used only when the temporary bridge is not a mandatory part of the treatment provided and should not be applied to a temporary bridge placed between visits in the process of fabricating the final bridge.
