Overview

This is a non-surgical procedure for the treatment of periodontal disease that does not fall into any other category, but is aimed at restoring periodontal health. It may include:

  • Topical antimicrobial therapy: rinsing, rinsing, irrigation, or the use of slow-release medications;
  • Photodynamic therapy to disinfect and impair healing processes;
  • Systemic antimicrobial therapy to manage infection;
  • Other individualized approaches depending on the patient's clinical condition. This procedure combines a variety of non-surgical treatment methods that work to control infection and improve oral health.
