Overview

Surgical treatment of peri-implant disease for an implant involves creating access by separating the peri-implant soft tissues with a flap, which allows direct cleaning of the implant surface and removal of inflammatory tissue. If placement of bone grafts or regenerative materials is required, this part of the treatment is counted as a separate procedure.
